Frequently Asked Questions

1. Are your courses accredited by the American Heart Association?

YES. The Center of Excellence in Education (CEE) is an authorized American Heart Association Training Center.

2. Are your courses approved for continuing education credit (CME, BRN, EMT-P)?

YES. The Center of Excellence in Education (CEE) is an accredited provider of CME, BRN and EMT-P continuing education credit. The number of CE hours is based on the course length for ACLS, ACLS-EP, PALS and NRP. Continuing education credit is not allowed for Basic Life Support, as this is a baseline expectation for physician, nursing and EMT professionals.

3. I lost my CE certificate. Can I get a replacement CE certificate?

YES! Simply call or email to request a replacement CE certificate. We will validate your course completion and send a replacement CE certificate via email at no cost to you. Include in your message: Name, course title, date and location… and your current email address.

 

4. I lost my ACLS, ACLS-EP, PALS or BLS provider card. Can I get a replacement provider card?

YES! The cost for a replacement provider card is $15. Simply mail your check along with a brief note including your name, mailing address, the course title, date and location. We will validate your successful course completion and mail a new card to you.

 

5. My current certification has already expired. Can I still take the renewal course?

Please contact CEE Course Director, Barbara Furry at (530) 891-8916 or furryfarm@comcast.net to discuss your individual needs.

 

6. How long does it take to receive my provider card?

Your printed provider card will be mailed out (free of charge) within 10 business days of successful course completion and full payment received. Based on individual hospital contracts, cards will be mailed to the sponsoring hospital or directly to the course participant. MMCR employee cards will be delivered to MMCR Education Department and can be picked up on the following business day. 7. I have never been ACLS, BLS, PALS, or NRP certified. Can I still certify through your course?

YES! Our certification courses are designed with first-time certification or renewal in mind. Please register for the full course or renewal, as needed.

 

8. Will I need to obtain a textbook?

YES. The AHA 2015 edition textbooks are required for ACLS, ACLS-EP, PALS and BLS.

 

9. Will I receive an American Heart Association (AHA) or American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) provider card?

YES. The Center of Excellence in Education is an authorized training center for the American Heart Association. AHA provider cards are issued for successful completion of ACLS, ACLS-EP, PALS and BLS.

 

10. How long will my certification be valid?

Your certification will be valid for 2 years. At that point, you can conveniently renew your certification through one of our renewal courses.

 

11. COURSE FEES (cost):

The course fees may vary based on the facility hosting the class. For classes held at Mercy Medical Center Redding, Shasta Regional Medical Center in Redding, and CEE in Chico, the following prices apply (per person): â–ª ACLS full course (2 days, includes 14 hours CE credit), $200 â–ª ACLS Renewal course 1 day, includes 4-7 hours CE credit), $125 â–ª ACLS-EP course 1 day, includes 8 hours CE credit, $200 â–ª PALS full course (2 days, includes 14 hours CE credit), $200 â–ª PALS Renewal course 1 day, includes 4-7 hours CE credit), $125 â–ª BLS full course or renewal (CE not applicable), $40 â–ª First Aid and BLS combined (CE not applicable), $50

 

12. PRIVATE COURSES:

Private courses are available for individuals or groups. Let CEE bring the course and expert instructor to YOUR site, on YOUR time schedule. This is a great option for individuals, dental and medical offices, surgery centers, students and more! 13. PAYMENT OPTIONS:

Private pay participants: Cash or check. To guarantee your space in class, payment should be mailed to CEE at PO Box 308, Chico, CA 95927 MMCR employees: Visit MMCR Human Resources to request a payment voucher and borrow the textbook.

 

14. REFUNDS:

Refunds (less $25 processing fee) will be provided for cancellations received more than 48 hours prior to the class. With less than 48 hours’ cancellation notice, no refund will be given. NO EXCEPTIONS.

 

15. Who should take the ACLS-EP course?

The ACLS-EP (Experienced Provider) course is for seasoned healthcare providers who are proficient in performing BLS and ACLS skills, reading and interpreting ECGs, and understanding ACLS pharmacology. This course serves as an ACLS renewal course as well as providing an active critical thinking environment for Experienced ACLS providers featuring case-based scenarios to move beyond the standard ACLS algorithms while assisting learners in applying critical thinking to quickly reach a differential diagnosis for more effective management and treatment of critically ill patients.

 

16. I don’t see the course I want. Can you provide additional courses?
